How days are counted
Enter dates as YYYY-MM-DD from 0001-01-01 through 9999-12-31. Each date becomes an integer day number: all days in prior years, plus prior months, plus its day. The result is end minus start.
The Gregorian leap-year rule adds February 29 in years divisible by 4, except century years unless divisible by 400. Thus 2000 is a leap year and 1900 is not.
By default the same date is 0 days. Include end date counts both boundary dates: absolute difference plus 1, with direction shown separately. The same date then counts as 1 day. Weeks mean complete groups of seven days plus the remaining days.
These are calendar days, not business days. There are no times, time zones or daylight-saving adjustments, and no year/month borrowing or digit sums. Dates are calculated in this page only and are not saved.
